18th Century Brass Pewter- Dog Nose

This is an extremely rare brass pewter spoon mold used to make pewter spoons. “A History of American Pewter” identifies a spoon of this type as 1700 to 1740. Since there were many molds available for this style, it would have been available into the 1800s as recast pewter. Many of the spoon mold do not have handles such as this one. Pennsylvania origin, 8" L

A truly unique piece.
