a Spanish Baroque painter. According to Antonio Palomino , whom the most complete biography of the painter is due, he was born in Cordoba in the midst of a very illustrious family and trained with Pablo de Céspedes . On the death of Céspedes he went to Granada to continue his artistic training before settling in Bujalance, where his wife had any hacienda, accompanied by two sisters were also painters. In that prosperous city, only six leagues from Cordoba, he worked for the parish church and the Franciscan monastery, but especially for individuals, as highlighted as a painter of portraits, of which Palomino quoted glowingly for having been in the possession of the portraits
