a Flemish Baroque painter. According to Houbraken he specialized in gezelschappen; portraits of ladies and gentlemen enjoying music or conversation in interior settings. According to the RKD he married Maria Michielsen in 1642 and the painters Paul Rijckaert and Adriaen Michielsen were witnesses. In 1636 he became wine-master of the Guild of St. Luke. He was the son of Jacob van der Laemen, who Houbraken thought assisted him with his merry companies.
