a French sculptor. Between 1806 and 1810 he was engaged on the bas reliefs on the Vendôme Column in Paris. In 1817, he was elected to the Academie des Beaux Arts; amongst his students was Jean-Pierre Cortot. In 1828 he produced a monumental statue of Cardinal Richelieu which was installed at Richelieu, Indre-et-Loire. He was the father of Étienne-Jules Ramey (1796–1852), also a sculptor.
