a Spanish bishop. Cristobal de Pedraza, arrived in Puerto Horses on September 13, 1538. In 1545 he started work in the Province of Comayagua (Honduras) with the mission to bring Christianity to the Indians, he was a priest inclined to education and was known as the "Protector of the Indians", his major work is the "Report of the Province of Honduras" which makes a brutal critique of the Spanish conquistadors, defending the work of evangelization carried by the missionaries friars from his bishopric. He was elevated to bishop and I run the Diocese of Trujillo when he died in 1553 the episcopal see of the colonial city of Trujillo would be moved to the town of Santa Maria de la Nueva Valladolid Comayagua by his successor.
