a French philologist, physician and translator. He was born in Senlis, Oise, and died in Angoulême. There is very little additional information about the details of his life. He also translated from ancient Greek, Latin, Spanish, English, German and various Eastern languages ??into French. He was appointed professor of Hebrew and Syriac at the College de France in 1792, and Director of the National Library in 1793.
