a German painter. From 1778 Dryander was a traveling painter at various farms in southern Hesse, before 1788 court painter at the court of the Prince of Nassau-Saarbrücken was in Saarbrücken. Dryander was court painter primarily a portrait painter of high society at the court and painted next to Prince Ludwig and his family and the upper middle class of the city. In 1789 he married the 24-year-old Catharina Elisabetha Zix. The marriage produced two daughters and a son were born.
