a Mexican Spanish writer, dramatist and diplomat. The first taste of Gorostiza was, as always, the theater, for which he wrote, from his youth, comedies of manners that place next to Leandro Fernandez de Moratín and of Bretón of the Blacksmiths in the cultivation of neoclassical comedy. He was the son of Pedro Fernández de Gorostiza, governor of the port of Veracruz, and the poet Rosario Cepeda.
