Emacity

An itch to be buying. Latin emere, to buy; Caveat emptor, Let the buyer be ware! Everyman's wife, in America, is noted for her emacity. Also emptional, that may be purchased -- but of a person, emptitious, venal, open to a price. A market place was an emptory; as in John Ray's FLORA (1665) : The flower-market, the common emptory of trash and refuse.
