a German organist and composer. Kunzen was the son of the organist Johann Paul Kunzen and his wife Dorothea He was born in Wittenberg. Kunzen received a musical education by his father. He immediately was considered a musical prodigy and toured to Holland and England. He played in Aurich in August 1728 for the Danish royal couple. He held a tenure as concertmaster (from 1749) with the Duke Christian Ludwig II. In Mecklenburg, he had already wrote occasional compositions. In 1772, a stroke had paralyzed his right hand.
