a Dutch painter and draftsman. Antonie Jacobus van Wijngaerdt mainly painted landscapes and cityscapes. He was a pupil of the Amsterdam painter Louis Meijer and teacher of Dirk Johannes van Vreumingen and John Rost. Wijngaerdt initially worked as a painter in his hometown Rotterdam. He succeeded in 1836 in Gouda Cornelis Borsteegh as city stabbing master. He was - after on 6 October 1857 asked for his resignation - in 1858 succeeded by Johannes Jacobus Bertelman.
