a Dutch painter, probably born and died in Haarlem. He was a rare genre scene painter. He was influenced by Adriaen Brouwer, who lived in Haarlem in 1626/27, and by Frans Hals and his circle. Horatius was the younger brother of the painter Hans Bollongier. Apparently, and strangely enough, Horatius Bollongier seems to have quit painting circa 1625/1630 to work in the linen industry.
