a French clergyman and academic. He was the member elected to occupy seat 4 of the Académie française in 1688. He was tutor to the daughters of Monsieur, brother of Louis XIV. He is the author of a doctrine of reason, or Honnesteté manners according to the maxims of Seneca, reduced interviews, published in 1666.
