a Mexican poet. Manuel Carpio was a relevant writer, theologian, philosopher and doctor of the nineteenth century, and former member of the Mexican Romanticism. Born in the city of Cosamaloapan de Carpio in the State of Veracruz, he died in Mexico City. His poetry has been published twice in a collection entitled under the name of Poesías del Sr. Doctor Don Manuel Carpio (1860).
