a Czech composer. Masek studied with Josef Seger and Frantisek Xaver Dusek and lived for a time as a traveling concert pianist. He then became opera conductor and in 1794 he became organist in Prague. From 1802 onwards, he also conducted a musical treatment. Masek composed two Czech operas, symphonies, concertos, chamber music works, fairs, propers, cantatas, sonatas, works for the glass harmonica and songs. His brother Pavel Masek and his sons Albín and Gašpar Mašek were also composers.
