a German prince. Bernard was the eleventh and youngest son of Duke John III of Saxony-Weimar and Dorothea Maria of Anhalt-Zerbst. In the Thirty Years' War , he sided with the Protestants, and he was commander in the service of Sweden and France . On the side of the Dutch insurgents took part in the Siege of 's-Hertogenbosch (1629).
