a German painter of the Tischbein family, known as the Lübecker Tischbein. He learned first in Kassel the wallpaper painting, but also created paintings. Tischbein married a daughter of the painter Johann Dietrich Lilly. He operated out of Hamburg and from 1775, in Lübeck.
