Time: 3 hours.

Sufficient for 5 or 6 persons.

Seasonable at any time.

  1. 1/2 lb. of flour
  2. 1/4 lb. of suet
  3. 1/4 lb. of moist sugar
  4. 2 large teaspoonfuls of grated ginger
  • Shred the suet very fine
  • Mix it with the flour, sugar, and ginger;
  • Stir all well together;
  • Butter a basin,
  • Put the mixture in dry
  • Tie a cloth over
  • Boil for 3 hours
