  1. Pike
  2. Grated Bread
  3. Herbs
  4. Anchovies
  5. Oysters
  6. Suet
  7. Salt
  8. Pepper
  9. Mace
  10. 1/2 pint Cream
  11. 4 yolks of eggs
  12. Butter
Directions
  • Scale the fish, and open as near the throat as you can
  • Mix all of the other ingredients in a pan, and place over the fire till it thickens
  • Stuff the mixture into the fish, and sew it up
  • Place butter over the pike in little bits
  • Bake it until done

  • Serve sauce of gravy, butter, and anchovy.

Note: if in helping a pike, the back and belly are slit up, and each slice gently drawn downwards, there will be fewer bones given.
