Ingredients
  1. 1 pkg. active dry Yeast
  2. 1/4 cup warm Water
  3. 1 cup cream-style Cottage cheese, heated to lukewarm
  4. 1 Tbsp. Butter
  5. 2 Tbsp. Sugar
  6. 1 tsp. Salt
  7. 1/4 tsp. Baking soda
  8. 1 Tbsp. instant minced Onion
  9. 2 tsp. Dill seed
  10. 1 Egg
  11. 2 1/4 to 2 1/2 cups Flour
Directions
  • Soften yeast in water; let stand ten minutes.
  • In a large bowl combine the cottage cheese, butter, sugar, salt, and baking soda
  • Add the onion, dill seed, egg, and softened yeast.
  • Blend thoroughly.
  • Add flour gradually, beating well after each addition.
  • Cover and let rise in a warm place until double (1 hour).
  • Stir down dough.
  • Turn into well-greased 1 1/2 to 2 qt. casserole.
  • Let rise in warm place until light, 30 to 40 minutes.
  • Bake at 350 degrees 35 to 45 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
  • Brush top with soft butter and sprinkle with salt.
  • Cool about 5 minutes in casserole.
  • Remove bread to cooling rack.
