	LIVERPOOL HERCULANEUM PITCHER, ca. 1810, decorated with Signals at the Portland Observatory of Portland, Maine, with twenty-four flags and "Explanation" below, the reverse with an American frigate, 8 7/8" h. The Portland Observatory, an 86-foot high tower, became operational in 1807. Financed by a group of investors, organized by Captain Lemuel Moody (1767-1846), the Observatory was used to alert ship owners and merchants that their vessels were approaching with the use of the signal flags, identifying type and location of ship. 	CHESTER COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA QUEEN ANNE WALNUT SECRETARY DESK, ca. 1760, signed by Joseph Allen, the upper section with a bonnet top, flame finials, and a frieze with applied shell, above two arched raised panel doors, concealing a fitted interior with small drawers, above two candle slides, resting on a lower section with a slant lid, enclosing an ornately fitted interior, with a shell carved prospect door flanked by fluted and flame carved document drawers and small serpentine drawers, above a case with one long drawer above two short drawers and two long drawers, all supported by ogee bracket feet, 99" h., 39" w. 	WILHELM SCHIMMEL (CUMBERLAND COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA 1817-1890), CARVED AND PAINTED ROOSTER, retaining its original polychrome surface, 4" h. 	ENGLISH STAFFORDSHIRE POTTERY MOCHAWARE ROULETTED PITCHER, with an incurvate neck over the swollen shoulder, of tapering cylindrical form to the waisted foot, dipped with alternating warm black and grey bands, the rouletted band at the shoulder painted with green slip, the grey bands decorated with orange, warm black and white cat's eyes. Unmarked. Circa 1820. 5.875" H. Condition: Good condition, with minor rubbing to edges and handle. There is a short firing crack to the spout, and an internal scar where the lower handle terminate area has been pushed in by the potter, while applying the handle. The light losses to the very edges of the handle are original to manufacture, as are the tiny firing flaws in the handle. Sold at Jeffrey S. Evans Auctions April 14, 2015.
